May 1st

The wonderful month of May is here. Why is it wonderful? Because it is the last month of school and Scott and I celebrate our anniversary on the 21st. There are officially 19 days of school left. Clay is keeping me really busy. It's a lot of work loading and unloading a kiln. Especially if it is something that is glazed, because the little kids always get glaze on the bottom, so everything has to go on stilts, which are a pain. Last year I did all my unloading and loading during class after I got my kids started, but I can't do that with my kids this year. My little ones require a lot more supervision, plus if I bend over too much it shows my tattoo. Most of them can barely handle seeing the one on my foot when I wear sandals, so I think another one would make them go over board! I think I'm the only teacher at my school with piercings and tattoos. They don't know what they're missing out on. Yesterday I didn't have my kindergarten class, and my 2nd grade class was in an assembly for 30 minutes, so it was a nice break. Right now my kindergarten class is with our music teacher, but I have to go help at 1:00. Tomorrow my 5th graders will be gone, and kindergarten will be practicing in music again. I hear that the end of the year gets even better about them off doing things. I never mind an unexpected break. I have my last PLC after school at On The Border. I'm bringing my cookie cake, so hopefully they will like it. It seems like lately I have so much to do all the time and not enough hours in the day to do it. I fired my dog treat jar, and it looks cute, but I made something for Mom for Mother's Day and it cracked a little bit. I almost cried when I saw it. I spent so much time painting it, and I wanted it to look perfect. I'm still going to give it to her, but now I'm going to get her something else to go with it. That's another thing coming up too soon. Scott decided he wanted golf lessons for our anniversary, so that let me off the hook. I'm glad because I was having a hard time coming up with something. Well, gotta go help with kindergarten. Happy first day of May!!!
