I can't believe how quickly 2008 went by. It was a good year in the Hughes household. I decided to spend the last day of 2008 doing something productive. I cleaned house a little bit and then I got to feeling a little down since I was at home all by myself so I decided to tackle wallpaper. If you've been to our house you know that the people who lived here before us liked tacky fish wallpaper. The animal room, which is going to turn into Will's room, had a fish wallpaper border in the middle of the wall all the way around the room. It also had some very bad chair railing above it. Why they put it there, I don't know because everyone knows chair railing goes 35 inches above the floor. Well, if you watch HGTV you should know. As soon as we moved in I peeled it off, but it still left all this nasty stuff all over the wall. It's one reason we hadn't started doing anything in there yet. I went in with a huge scrub brush and some water and went to town. My goal was to just get one wall done, and then after that I couldn't stop. So, now it's ready to be painted.
For New Year's Eve we had Mom and Dad over and ate snacks and played Monopoly. Scott beat us at Monopoly, but not before I stole $1,000 from him when he wasn't looking! We got it for $8 on sale at Wal-Mart. Cheap entertainment huh? It may sound kind of boring, but I think it's the most fun we've had on a New Year's Eve in a while. Scott was doing all of his notorious smack talking and everything. He had to work on New Year's Day, so I got up and went shopping with Mom and Dad. I got Will some of the cutest clothes ever. Dillard's was having a great sale where everything that was already on sale was an additional 50% off. I got Scott's birthday gift and his anniversary gift. I'm the most pleased with his anniversary gift, but you'll have to wait until May to find out what it is! I think Will is set for the winter. I got his baby dedication outfit, his Christmas picture outfit, his Christmas day pajamas, and 2 of the cutest coats ever. One will make him look like a little brown bear. The coat feels plush and has little bear pockets and a hood with bear ears on it. I have always had an obsession with wanting to dress my kids up like animals all the time when they're little. He already has 2 little blue bear hats with ears from Old Navy. I even got him a cute sailor coat with a hat for $6. I got about $400 worth of clothes for $84. I'm pretty pleased with myself. I think he got at least 13 outfits yesterday. I can't wait until he's here to dress him up. At the doctor he was not being cooperative for the ultrasound to do all his measurements. Normally he moves around a ton, so I even drank some Starbucks before I went to make sure he was active. Let's just say that it had the opposite effect. He slept the whole time and wouldn't move his hands from his face. The tech did all kinds of poking on him, but he wouldn't move! He already weighs 14 ounces. I only have 19 weeks to go!
