Back to work

It's already Monday again. It is the last Monday in February, so it's an okay Monday. It was a pretty calm weekend because Scott had to work. Firday night we went to olive Garden for dinner and then to Sam's. I started feeling sick on Friday night and it lingered all weekend. I still don't feel great this morning, but hopefully it won't turn into anything. I'm hoping it is just a cold, but I'm not convinced yet. Saturday I got up and went to Wal-Mart before they got crowded and got a few things that I couldn't get a t Sam's. Then I went to Michael's and picked up a few cake decorating things. I practiced some of my flowers and things this weekend. I haven't been able to take course 3 yet, which is the fondant course, so I've taught myself almost all of it. I hadn't mastered the fondant rose yet, but I made one this weekend. It even resembles a rose, which is good, since I had never made one before. Next time I will roll it out a little thinner. I'm making Scott's grandparents a 60th anniversary cake in 2 weeks. I decided to make royal icing pansies. you can make them weeks in advance, so I made some pink and white ones. I hadn't made any in almost 2 years, and I have to say that they look pretty good. After they drie out enough I will paint them. That's something I can work on through the week. I think we have an assembly today and tomorrow, so I always appreciate the occasional break. 14 more school days until spring break!!
