Long time no blog

so, it's been 3 months since I have posted anything. I know I know. I'm busy though. It's hard keeping up with everything else, but I'm going to do better. I got Will off to bed, so I have a little time. In less than a week he's going to be 11 months old. I can't believe it. It makes me kind of sad. I guess it's time to have another one!! Ha ha. I think that time will come in May to June. You have to time these things just right when you're a teacher and off for the summer! So, I have like 2 months to enjoy some alcohol and try to loose a little more weight. I joined weight watchers online in October and I have lost 32 pounds! My goal is to get as skinny and healthy as I can before I get pregnant again. Maybe this time I won't have to go on bed rest. Although, you can have blood pressure issues anytime. I weigh 21 pounds less than when I went in for my first doctors appointment when I was pregnant. I do have to say though that it was the day after we had gone to the fair, so it was a little innacurate!! Gotta go pump now. Yes, I am still doing that. I've cut it down to twice a day, although my boobs do not appreciate it at all. Going from 6:30 in the morning until 8:00 at night makes for very full, uncomfortable boobies. They sure look good though!! Ha ha. Unfortunately they will probably be gone for swimsuit season, but Scott says when we're done having kids he'll replace them for me!!

First Word

Well, yesterday Will looked at his Daddy and said "Dadadada". Not once, but several times throughout the evening. So much for momma being his first word! Oh well, I don't mind, he's still a Momma's boy! He can almost crawl. I'm hoping he is doing it by Christmas morning. He's getting to be such a big boy. His 2 teeth are starting to show in his pictures, and he has so much blond hair. This morning when I got him up he had a huge cowl lick in the front, so he got his hair gelled for the first time to go to school. He looked way cute. He's doing really well on his eating too. We just need to get him started sleeping through the night again. But luckily, there is only 1 more day of school left for the first semester. It's gone by mostly fast, but there have been some times like last week that were really slow. I'm excited that the year will already be halfway over, but it makes me kind of sad because Will is growing up so fast!! My photography business is doing pretty well too. I'm just pretty busy lately. I love this time of year!

Well, we are home sick today. Monday night Will was being really fussy, but I thought it had to do with his teeth. Then, when I gave him his bath I noticed that he had a rash all over, then a fever. So, Mommy stayed home with him yesterday and took him to the doctor. Turns out he has an ear infection, maybe in both ears, but he couldn't see the other one very well. And, some kind of virus that has given him the rash. But luckily, he doesn't have the flu. I started feeling sick yesterday morning too. Luckily today my temperature is gone, but I have a killer headache. This being gone 2 days in a row has used up a lot of my sick days, but I'm glad to be at home with my bubby. It spoils me to what it would be like to be a stay at home Mommy. Stay at home Mommy plus pumping is hard work. 29 weeks and counting. Go me. I've been taking lots of pictures lately. I'm having a mini-session on Saturday. I still have some spots left, so I'm hoping they fill up. I keep praying for God to bring me business!! Will's bottom 2 teeth are really poking up now. They're so cute. I can't believe how fast he's growing up. He's almost 7 months old. We're having to work on the eating food again thing. It seems like he has been getting gagged lately and throwing everything up. So, in order to keep the food down him we've been putting his food and his cereal in a bottle with his milk. Vicious cycle. He threw up bananas this morning. On the other hand, I have really enjoyed making hi baby food. Well, he's starting to fuss and I'm done pumping!

2 Teeth!!

So, now that Will is 6 months old he decided he wanted to be a big boy. His first tooth came through on Halloween, and his second tooth came through yesterday. He has also started getting on his elbows and knees and rocking back and forth trying to crawl. He needs to stop growing so fast!!! The other day when I came home Scott had him in his jumper. The dogs were running around because they were excited I was home, and Will was going crazy! He was squealing and laughing and jumping around like crazy. It was really cute. I can't believe how nice the weather has been lately either. I decided yesterday that I was going to take my little kids outside with a clip board and we were going to draw the fall trees. It's too pretty to not take advantage of. This week has gone by incredibly fast. I can't believe Thanksgiving is almost here. Although, as I was taking down some of my Halloween decorations I decided that I think I should just go ahead and decorate for Christmas. By the time I have the time to get it all up it will be time to decorate for Christmas anyways. Plus, it will make it last longer. If KBEZ can already have their Christmas music on the radio, I can put my decorations up!!

6 Months Old!!!

Can you believe it? My baby is 6 months old today. The past 6 months have flown by. He's doing so much now. Luckily he's sleeping through the night again. He goes to bed around 8:00-8:30 and has been sleeping until about 6:45 when I wake him up. Yeah!!! I think he's cutting a tooth too. Thank goodness for baby orajel! I also can't believe how fast October went by. I'm taking a personal day tomorrow to get things made for my Halloween party. I'm also taking some pictures then too. I have 4 photo shoots in a week. 3 are paying ones. Pretty cool. Except, it makes for one busy Bethy. I have something every day until next Saturday. But, if I don't get my clients going now there's no hope for me. At least my flash class will only be 2 more times. I love this picture. It's such a sweet picture of my boys! Believe it or not, he was just about to throw a fit, and I got the shot right before! I love taking pictures of my little man!!

I'm sitting here at parent teacher conferences trying to pass the time. Will is keeping me company. 1 more hour to go. For some reason Facebook isn't blocked today, so it's keeping me company too. We take Will for his 6 month doctor visit tomorrow. He's going to be 6 months old next Tuesday. that's half a year. I can't believe it. He's such a big boy now. He's started sleeping through the night again thank goodness. Last night he started actually opening his mouth when we feed him instead of us trying to shove it in! I made him baby food last night. I bought the Beaba Babycook and I really like it so far. I made him applesauce and carrots. I feel like such a homemaker! I need to take Will's 6 month pictures soon. I think they will be Halloween themed. I need to take pictures for a lot of people actually! IT's just hard trying to find the time to fit it in during the week and when Scott works every other weekend it's hard. But, I need to start making it a priority so I can only be taking pictures soon. I'm excited for my Halloween party coming up soon. I'm starting to feel like my usual crazy holiday self again. It was gone for a while, but now it's back!

Happy 5 Months Baby Will!

My little bubba is 5 months old today. I can't believe how fast the months have gone by. He's such a blessing to have in my life!

Wednesday, September 23, 2009

I know, it's been a while. It's hard finding the time to do this now! Let's see, since I've been gone I've taken pictures for 2 different people. I'll have to post them when I'm at home. This weekend I'm going to take maternity pics for my neighbor, so I'm looking forward to that. Scott has this weekend off, so I'm really looking forward to that. Right now I feel like I'm doing such a balancing act, and I'm right on the edge of feeling completely overwhelmed. I think it's because I've got a lot of stuff this week every day after school. I had a hard time dropping Will off this morning. Amanda couldn't take him, so I got to take him to daycare. I think those days are harder for me. I cried the whole way to school. I have a meeting after school today and I'm probably not going to get home until 5:30 at least. Then we have community group. I think I might stay home, because I need some Will time. This is the balancing act I'm talking about. I hate having to choose between things like that, but when I'm away from him all day I don't want to not be able to see him in the evening. Hopefully things will get a little easier, but now I have to drive to Jarman for my meeting. Ta ta.

Having fun with baby Will!!

Thursday, September 10, 2009

This week is going by fast. Probably because it's only a 4 day week. I think every week should be a 4 day week. Yesterday Will started sticking his booty in the air and trying to put his knees under. I can't believe how fast he's doing things. He just started rolling completely over on Friday. He had been rolling over, but he hadn't figured out how to get his arm out of the way. My little boy is growing up so fast. I thought that once he started eating some cereal he would sleep really well, but this congestion stuff of his is keeping us all up. Last night he only got up once, and I guess you would say it was this morning. The nights before he's been getting up twice. He coughs and wakes himself up, then he rolls over and he's mad that he rolled over! This morning his cough sounded a little productive instead of dry, so I'm hoping he's not coming down with something. I slept really well last night because Scott was on baby duty, but I'm feeling a little down this morning. I think it may be the rain. Rainy days are for sleeping in and wearing your pajama pants all day. Plus, Scott is still not feeling well. This has been going on for 2 weeks now. It reminds me of last year when he got sick on Thanksgiving and didn't get better until Christmas. I just can't take that again this year. He woke up on Tuesday morning covered in a red rash because he had a reaction to his antibiotic. He still had a slight fever last night too. I hope his strep isn't turning into something else. Maybe it's his ear infection. Who knows. I did decorate for fall this past weekend. The house looks really pretty. I even made a fall wreath for my door. I'm trying to not get back into my wreath making obsession. I ought to make them and sell them. I filed for my EIN number with the IRS. Beth Hughes Photography is official. I took pictures of my friends twin one year old boys for their birthday on Tuesday. That was a lot of work!! My pictures turned out nice though. I was afraid they wouldn't because one of them cried almost the whole time. I even got some cute pics of their sister. I'm just trying to have a whole lot of faith right now. I'm hoping God brings me a lot of business so I can stay home with my little man!!

One year ago today. . . .

One year ago today I found out I was pregnant. I can't believe how fast the time has gone. I remember how shaky I was when I looked at that test and realized it wasn't negative. Scott and I both couldn't believe it. The fertility clinic had told us we were going to need some help, so it made it all the more unbelievable. God really does answer prayers. Will has been such a blessing in our lives. I'm so grateful to have him and be his Mommy. Today he had cereal for the first time. He spit most of it out, but hey, it still counts!! Last week he started chewing on his thumb and Friday he finally figured out how to get his arm out of the way and roll completely over. Now he's unstoppable. All I can say is that I'm glad Mom and I went in to Williams-Sonoma the day before we found out. If the smell of those stuffed pancakes hadn't made me feel queasy and Mom thinking it was odd, who knows when we would have found out. I just remember Scott saying thy don't you take a test in the morning, and I almost didn't. I was so tired of the negative ones. I don't think I'll ever forget that morning.

Mommy has been having a little too much fun. He enjoyed these for a little while. He did pee every where, but it was worth it!!

New Pics

I have my studio almost completely set up now. I decided to play around with Will yesterday. I took the ones of him in the overalls before I went to school and the other ones when I got home. I had so much fun with him!! I didn't get them all up because I had to leave for work!! Most of the other ones are on my facebook. I can't believe he's going to be 4 months old tomorrow.

17 weeks

Will is 17 weeks old today. He's such a big boy. Allegedly he rolled over for the daycare people last Monday. Scott said he had rolled over on his play mat 2 different times on Friday too. Has he done any of this for Momma? No. Of course not. I try every day to get him to, but he won't. He did roll over 3 times in a row as soon as I put him down for tummy time. I guess he's had enough of his tummy time. My studio is almost completely set up. i can't wait to start taking pictures!!!! Will doesn't know what he's in for. I had a great weekend with Will. Scott had to work, so we spent a lot of time with just the two of us. Saturday night we had some friends over for dinner and that was a lot of fun. I think we're going to start doing it a lot more often. I've signed up to take a couple of photography classes at Apertures. I'm taking the Digital 1 class so they can teach me everything my camera does. As soon as it gets over I'm going to take a wedding class. I'm getting so excited about it!!! I still need a name. I'm just drawing a blank here!

Well, we've been in school for a week now. Things are kind of starting to settle down. My 2-5th grades are pretty easy because I've had them for 2 years already. My first grade class is the group of terrible kindergarten kids from last year. They still need a lot of work. We won't even talk about kindergarten. One of my class has 33 in it. It's crazy. Have you tried to have that many kids by yourself? I wouldn't recommend it. I cried every day last week when I left or when I dropped Will off. I didn't cry on Monday or Tuesday, but I felt very teary this morning. And to make things even worse, Will rolled over at day care yesterday. They wrote it on his card. I wasn't very happy when I read it. I'm happy he rolled over, but not happy that I haven't seen it. He almost did it last night for me, but he was mad and wanted his bottle. Who knows what else I'm going to miss while he's at daycare. Watch, he'll say his first word there. I don't know if I can stick to my 2 year plan or not. I've got to get my photography business going so I can make enough money so we have a little extra. All I have to do is take my purple bedroom apart and set everything up. I need a name!!!!! I think I may take a class at Apertures that teaches you about your digital camera. Mine does a lot of things and it would probably be benifical for me. They also have a class on starting your own business. So does TCC, and they have lighting classes too. Well, here's hoping this is a good day. I'll put pictures up soon. I have these little baby angel wings and halos that I ordered. I need to take some pics of Will. He'll be a little fat cherub!!!

I survived the first day

This is what I looked like on my first day of kindergarten. You don't want to know what I looked like after my first day back of teaching school! I was so exhausted. The first half of my day went fine. All my kids knew me already, I knew them, and they know what I expect. After lunch I started out with kindergarten. 32 of them. It was a mad house. I was completely exhausted after them. And, one of them was completely deaf in one ear and has other things going on as well. I wasn't informed of any of that until their teacher picked them up and I was telling her about him. Nice. Would have been great to know that as soon as they came in. She's also the teacher that didn't tell me when one of her new kids couldn't speak any English. I really wish they would tell me these things!! My other last 2 classes went fine, but I just can't believe how exhausting it all was. I survived though. They all told me how much they had missed me and they were glad I was back, so that helped. They want Will to come to school so they can see him. I think he should just come every day!! Tonight we're going to Summer's 5th Night, so that will be a good break. Will woke up at 4 something making some noises, but I guess he went back to bed because I'm still waiting on him to get up at 6:50. Normally I would have woken him up by 6:30, but Jen is coming over so I don't have to leave as early. I was so busy yesterday that I didn't have time to miss him too much. It does make me sad though to think of everything I am going to miss during the day. We'll have to see if I can make other arrangements for next year. Wish me luck on day 2!

Firsy Day of School!

Today is the first day of school. It will be my first time to teach since February 13th. I hope everything goes well!! Kindergarten is the only one that I'm a little worried about. I can't believe this is my 6th year to teach. It sure goes by fast. It's funny how the more I've taught the less anxious I get about the first day of school. The only thing that made me anxious was leaving Will. I think I cried 3 or 4 times when I left him on Monday. Once I got to work I was fine though. Scott brought him up to my meet the teacher and then we had to go to his meet the teacher. All in the middle of a rain storm. What fun. Yesterday he came to school with me and luckily Jennifer came and helped or I might have been up here all night getting my room ready. Will is at Amanda's house today and then Jen is going to watch him tomorrow. I did cry a little bit when I got to Amanda's though. Luckily Will was asleep so it made it easier for me to leave him. It was hard when I left the house because he was smiling and talking to me. It makes me want to cry when I talk about crying about him, so I have to stop!! I'm a little too busy during the day to think about it, so that's good. He will have his every Friday Dad and lad time on Friday. He's going to wonder what's going on! His school starts on Monday, so then he will hopefully get used to the people he will be around. My schedule this year is pretty good. We get 5 minutes in between our classes, so that will be a real life saver. The only bad thing is that I have duty every day before school and every other day after school. Blah. At least this year before school I will be inside! Well, I have to go do my duty, so here's to an event free day. Hopefully.

Sunday, August 9, 2009

It has finally come to that last day before I have to go back to work. I can't believe how fast the past 6 months have gone by. I can't believe how big my little boy is getting. He has been sleeping through the night for the past 2 weeks, and I'm totally loving that. The past couple of weeks having been busy. Scott and I went to my 10 year highschool reunion. Crazy how fast 10 years goes by. My camera came in!! I've been getting all my things to start my studio set up. Basically everything is ordered, I'm just waiting for it to come in. Hopefully that's what I will be doing soon instead of teaching. Last week Will and I went on a picnic with Mom and Dad. Mom and Dad also opened Will his first savings account and Pepaw gave him a nice $100 bill to start it out! Will can almost roll over and he has started picking his feet up and almost playing with them when he's on his back. He loves to smile and laugh. He's such a happy baby and such a Momma's boy. I hope he will do alright tomorrow without me with him all day. I don't want to write too much about it now or I'm going to cry! Just pray for us both tomorrow. It will be an extremely long day for me (12 hours), and Will's first day without Mommy. Too bad the summer's over.
