Forgetful

So my poor little boy has definitely been sick. Saturday night he threw up twice. and we were both too paranoid to have him sleep on his back, so he slept in his bouncer. Just in case. We took him to the doctor this morning and he seems to be on the mend after 3 days of throwing up and having diarrhea. He's too little to be sick :( In other news, I think my sleep deprivation is getting to me. First, this morning I went to pour my coffee and it was clear. I forgot to put the actual coffee in the coffee pot. Number two. I go to take my car to get the oil changed and can't remember how many miles I have. At all. Not even the faintest clue. I've only had it since 2003. Number 3. We take Will to the doctor and they have this sign in sheet that you fill out. I couldn't remember our address. I completely blanked, wrote some numbers down and then had Scott come look and he fixed it. I also almost drove past our house again the other day when there weren't any cars in the drive way. Hmm. I'm starting to wonder about me.

We bought Scott a bike today. Apparently he's never had a new bike before. We even got one of those kid trailers that you put on the back. It will be something fun for us to do when the weather cools off. That's it for now. I have to go cut Scott's hair. Hope I remember how to do it.

Will in the swing

I can't believe how big my little boy is looking. I actually think he's sick at the moment. Thursday he threw up and last night he threw up. We're not talking a little bit either. He had just eaten 6 ounces last night and he threw up all over Scott, himself and my freshly mopped kitchen floor. This was all while I was making dinner. So, we filled up the sink and gave him a bath right there. Soapy baby + ceramic sink= very slippery baby. He only wanted me to hold him last night and he woke up twice during the night. He only wakes up once a night if he does. He hasn't eaten much today and has wanted to sleep a lot. Poor little guy. I took these pictures this morning when he was awake, which hasn't been much today. Oh well, it's too hot to be out and about anyways.

Today I took Will for his 2 month pictures. My camera still hasn't come in, so I had to take him and pay Target for his pictures. See I had this coupon for an 8 x 10 for $3.99 and no sitting fee. Well, that's just to lure you in. My mistake was bringing an outfit and wanting naked baby pictures. $200 later. Well, what can you do? He smiled and showed off his dimple. If I didn't order them these terrific pictures of my child would be erased forever. This is what happens when Scott doesn't go with me. Actually, he probably would have done the same thing. See, my camera really needs to come in. You can check them out at http://www.thesmilestation.com/ Put in my name Beth Hughes and the account is LTTT0172105824TAR. You'll see why I spent $200. On another note, you remember the tank top I said Mema left me in the plastic Lowe's sack for my birthday? She told Mom she got me one of those low cut ones since her girls liked to show their titties off. Those are the exact words that came out of my 82 year old grandmother's mouth. So Mema, this picture is for you. Me tonight at Summer's 5th Night courtesy of Scott. He has a thing for taking pictures of my boobs. With my shirt on. Don't get any ideas.

Happy Birthday to me

We started off my birthday by having breakfast at Mimi's. Mom and Jennifer came too. The theme for my birthday this year was purple and zebra print, so I had to have a zebra print outfit or two to match. I even painted my nails and toe nails purple. After breakfast we piddled around the mall, Ulta and Kohl's until it was time to go to lunch and get my cake. We ate lunch at The Macaroni Grill. Mom, Dad, Jen and Scott's parents came over for pizza, cake and ice cream for my party. I even made purple cosmopolitans with purple rimming sugar. I even made Dad and Gary some club soda with lime that I dyed purple to match. In the middle of my dying, I got red food coloring on my brand new zebra shirt and my brand new jeans from The White House/Black Market. Go figure. Each Mom had an article of my clothing in a sink trying to get the red dye out. It came out of my jeans, but not my shirt. It's a work in progress. I even convinced myself that Deborah was secretly driving up to surprise me for my birthday because I had asked her to, and because she called me while she was in the car driving. She said she was on her way to church, but I still looked for her. I gave up after a while and was convinced that she was really going to church. I got a purple flower arrangement and a zebra and purple cake from Scott. He also got me a beautiful amethyst David Yurman bracelet. I was quite surprised. Everyone else gave me money to go towards my camera I ordered 3 weeks ago that still isn't in. I even gave Will some bubble horns in his bathtub tonight. Tomorrow we're going for his 2 month pictures at Target. In all, I had a great birthday and feel very blessed that God has given me such a wonderful family. One of these days I will figure out how to upload a picture and put text under it and upload another picture and put text under it. We're just lucky I figured out how to upload pictures. I forgot to put what Deborah got me. Since she knows that I like to have parties, she got me a serving platter to match my cheese platter, and a set of tasting spoons. You know, the kind you make something on and everyone gets a spoon and eats it. Also, crazy Mema had left a Lowes plastic sack hanging from my door with a 99 cents card in it and some kind of tank top. You know, the kind you can get at like Walgreens or something. Nice. And, big brother, you didn't call me for my birthday. Texting me Happy Birthday doesn't have quite the effect of calling and telling me!

4th of July

To start the 4th off right, Will got a tattoo to match his Mommy's. Yes, that's right, I put fake tattoos on my baby. In fact, everyone at my house for the 4th of July got a patriotic tattoo. Or two. We had a fabulous shrimp boil, and I made a ton of desserts. It was an all around good time, and it was a lot more fun having it at our house instead of Mema's. Will didn't even seem to mind the fireworks, and I didn't get bit by a single mosquito. I didn't even have on bug spray. I bought one of those Off lamp things, and it worked great.

Happy 4th of July!!

It's finally the 4th of July. It's kind of been the 4th of July at my house all week. Will has had an outfit to wear for every day. Does that really surprise you? He even has a patriotic star tattoo on his foot to match mine. He weighed 12.5 pounds at his doctors visit, and he's doing great. He didn't cry on the first shot, but he sure wailed for the second one. Poor baby. He's slept all night the past 2 nights. Yesterday he got up around 5:45 and ate, then I went to Wal-Mart before they got crowded. I left my house before 7:00 in the morning. How crazy is that? I got an end parking spot, and they weren't crowded, so it pays to get up early. I also got the last box of blue jello in the entire place. Go me. I baked desserts all day yesterday and then we had a barbecue for dinner last night. Tonight we're having a shrimp boil. I'm waiting on Will to wake up so we can go to the farmer's market. He went to sleep around 10:00 last night and slept all night. He sounded like he was waking up around 5:45 this morning, so I got up, but he's still sleeping. Actually, I think he just woke up, so I'll post more later!!

Things have been busy in the Hughes house. First of all, Will is 2 months old today. He's currently snoring in my lap, so this will be another one handed blog. Friday was Scott's day off, so I did some house cleaning while Scott mowed. I would have gotten more done, but Will threw up EVERYWHERE, so he had to get a bath and then we had some errands to run. Friday night we had a date and Mimi and Pepaw came to babysit. We had a $50 gift card to Charleston's, so we went there for dinner. Ironically he girl who brought our food out was one of my students from my first year of teaching at Preston. We walked around Bass Pro afterwards and looked at guns. I need a new gun. I also need to go to the gun range. I used to beat Scott at the shooting game there, but it's been a while and he beat me this time. We went to Marble Slab for dessert and Scott decided we should call and tell Mom that we were off getting tattoos. Of course, they both believed us, because it' s definitely something we would do. Speaking of getting some ink, it's been 4 years, so I think it's about time for another one. I still think we should have a community group tattooing event, but now I'm rambling. Scott worked this weekend, so I got up early and Will and I went to the farmer's market with Mom and Dad. Mom and I went shopping after that and then took Will to visit his Daddy. I haven't done much else this weekend. I do have a very clean house though. My cousins girlfriend came over and cleaned today and my house looks great. She only charges $20 an hour, so if you need your house cleaned. . . .

I'm still waiting for my camera to come in. I hope it's here by the 4th of July. And, I still need a name for my business. I have to tell something crazy that happened today. Mom was on the love seat feeding Will his baba and I was on the couch pumping. The phone rang and it was Melissa wanting to know how to get to our house. I gave the phone to Mom, because I'm very directionally challenged. Then, the door bell rang and it was the cable guy needing in our backyard. Let's just say that it was a crazy few minutes and we both had our hands very full!
